Shavout/Pentecost

We have been getting ready for the Shavuot holiday which starts tonight and through tomorrow. This is all about remembering and being thankful for the gifts of God, especially the gift of the Torah (Law). For Christians it is also important because we remember the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Today the primary had a special Shavuot assembly in which special songs were beautifully sung and children brought gifts of food and fruits which we are donating to the African Refugee Development Center (ARDC).

A lot has been happening...

Everyday brings with it new and exciting adventures in our little school. The past few weeks have seen many different activities, with grade 10, 11 and 12 pupils doing final preparations for exams and then finally going off on study leave last Friday. The Art exam was the first exam to be experienced by the candidates, over the past two days.

This week we also had the third and final meeting between our pupils and pupils from Ramat HaHayal school in Tel Aviv. The meetings were hosted at Tabeetha and the pupils had three sessions each of sport, drama and a walking tour of old Jaffa. The day was complete with fresh food delivered by Abou Elafia bakery. Yummy! This was definitely the highlight for some of the children!

On Monday we had all the children and staff put their mark at school by placing a hand-print on one of the walls. We had over 300 children involved in the exercise and no paint fights or spillages!

Today we took delivery of our new piano. This was purchased with the help of a generous donation received from Scotland. Tomorrow we get to break it in at our music assembly!
