Save A Child's Heart Visit

This year grade 7 participated in a project called Everyday Heroes. During the project they were visited by people from the community who explained that heroes don’t only come in the form of superheroes, but rather, they can be anyone with a goal to help their community.

One particular visitor came from an organization called Save A Child’s Heart, an organization that helps provide free heart surgery to those in developing countries who otherwise would not be able to receive the care they need. These children come to Israel often times without a parent. The grade 7 class decided to give the children a visit and give them a day of fun. The students held a fundraiser at school to buy the children balloons, and then they were off to their visit.

At the Save A Child’s Heart center the grade 7 students danced, sang, played and helped with arts and crafts projects with all of the children they met. The children at the center were mostly from Tanzania and Ethiopia, despite the language barrier, Tabeetha students did everything they could to make the children happy. They learned how to give back to others who have very little. On the bus ride back the students talked about the experiences they had with the children they met, and said that it was the best trip they had ever been on!
