After a busy week to top off a busy term we are on Easter/Passover Holidays now until Monday 2nd May.

Pajama Day and Talent Show

The Secondary School ended the day today with a Talent Show with 7 different acts ranging from violin playing to dancing. Some of our senior pupils even delighted the rest of us with some very entertaining Salsa dancing.
Primary Spirit Week continued today with children coming to school in their pajamas to mark Pajama Day. Tomorrow they will end the week by enjoying a breakfast together in the school playground first thing in the morning. What a great way to end a wonderful term in our special little school!

Spirit Week continues...

Our primary Spirit Week continues, with yesterday being "Black-and-White" day and today having many pupils (and some teachers!) wearing "Funny Glasses". Tomorrow we will be seeing many people in their pajamas for "Pajama Day" and that should be fun!

Spring Fair and Spirit Week

Our week last week ended with our annual Spring Fair on Friday. Each class once again setup and ran various stalls and games ranging from selling pizzas to making balloon animals. We even had sumo wrestlers! The atmosphere was festive and everyone had a great time. Many thanks to the teachers and parents who helped in many different ways.

This week began with our primary having Spirit Week in which each day brings with it a different theme. Today was "crazy hair day" with many children sporting different hairstyles.

Recently, our Reception class enjoyed an art lesson with a difference. They listened to Dance of the Flowers by Tchaikovsky, then painted their interpretation of the music. These pictures are the result of their ideas.

Sleepover...

We had about 40 grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 pupils spend the night in the school on Thursday. We had a BBQ together and spent the rest of the rest of the time just chatting and passing the time. In the morning we enjoyed breakfast together, complete with strawberries and cream! Very few people slept, but great fun was had by all. Thank you to all the teachers who helped and to the grade 10 girls who organised the catering. Excellent job!

CITYarts Pieces for Peace

What an exciting honour it has been to be involved with the making of Peace Wall number 284 here in Jaffa. Today we were part of the opening ceremony of the wall in Kedem street, Jaffa. The wall is part of the CITYarts worldwide project. To quote the aim of the project from the CITYarts Mosaic Peace Wall Fact sheet: "To connect Arab and Jewish Israeli youth to each other and to their peers around the world, including 40 countries that have already been engaged in the Pieces for Peace project, through the process of creating a mosaic Peace Wall."
Many of our pupils were involved with helping during the evening, including being part of the Arab-Jewish Choir and with showing the visitors the wall with the peace mosaic which they helped to create.
Here Mrs. Linda Rosenthal, our art teacher, stands with Arda Hindoyan, grade 11, in front of her pomegranate mosaic which is part of the Peace Wall.
We had three of our pupils deliver a short speech describing the work and how Tabeetha has been involved.
Mr. Ron Huldai, Mayor of Tel Aviv/Jaffa also graced us with his presence and spoke about the importance of such projects for the city of Jaffa and Tel Aviv.
Each participant received a certificate and T-shirt to remember the special occasion.
