Staff and students of
Tabeetha School celebrated the festival of love on Thursday with their annual
St Valentine’s Day event.
A non-uniform day was
declared, and students exchanged their regular blue t-shirts for different
shades of red, white, and pink. The last two lessons were given over to a party
in the playground. Braver students sang love songs over the karaoke machine,
and student volunteers distributed gifts of red flowers and balloons.
The whole event was
organised by the Student Council, under the enthusiastic leadership of School
Presidents Nayreen Fanous and Karim Hishmeh, who also oversaw the decoration
of the school hall with hand-coloured hearts.
Tabeetha principal
Antony Short praised the work of the Student Council, saying, “The Valentine’s
Day celebrations were so much fun! It was really colourful and the atmosphere
was great.”
The event set a joyful
tone ahead of Tabeetha School’s landmark 150th Anniversary Celebrations next month.
