150th Celebrations

We had a whirlwind of a week with different activities to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the school. Apart from being in many major media articles (Ha'raetz English Edition), both here in Israel and in Scotland (The Scotsman), we were visited by many Tabeetha Alumni through the week. We were all treated to drama productions and talent shows. Visitors were taken on tours of the school and had opportunity to meet the pupils. Of course, the highlight of the week was the Gala Alumni Dinner on Saturday night, where we had a gathering of over 300 people. Most of the guests were Alumni form all over the world from across the decades. Pictures from the event can be seen on the Yaffa48 website.
There were representatives from each of the decades from the 1950s to the present. A video presentation of each decade was also shown. These can be seen on YouTube. (1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s to present) It was a magical evening and it was a great experience to see many people being reunited after so many years.

150th Celebrations

This past week has been full of activities commemorating 150 years of Tabeetha School. Today we celebrated with a Thanksgiving Assembly remembering what Jane Walker-Arnott has done for the school, as well as the countless others who have served through the years. It was a very special and emotional time as we gave thanks for our school and everything it stands for. Tomorrow night we have the Gala Dinner which will be streamed live via this link.

The school has been featured in a number of local newspapers (Ha'aretz), as well as the Scottish paper, the Scotsman.

A full report on the week's activities will be published next week, including photos.

150th Anniversary Spring Fair

We enjoyed another very successful day today when the Tabeetha Community came together to celebrate the beginning of Spring. Pupils and teachers manned stalls ranging from crafts and pizza to brick-a-brac and crepes. This year we were very fortunate to have a scout group from Jerusalem give us a display of Scottish pipe music! The Tabeetha Choir, conducted by our music teacher Miss Alexis Gitman and accompanied by Mrs Pam Gilboa (Deputy Principal) added to the musical extravaganza by performing some well-known favourites.

Thank you to teachers, pupils and parents for making the day fun and successful!

Photos will be posted as soon as they are available.
